Buenas, Hello and Welcome

Hello And Welcome To My Blog Slash Digital Diary!

I’ve been contemplating doing this for a while and have not had the courage to actually share parts of my life with the world. But this week I woke up and figured, why not?

I do have some privacy issues (I watch too many true crime shows), and so with that being said,  I have decided not to share faces or real names of family members. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

If you read the About Me on the webpage, you may have gathered that I am just a bored mom and housewife. Did you just raise your eyebrows or scrunch your face and say to yourself, “bored mom and housewife?”  Yep, I can only imagine you did.  “I am a bored mom” said no mom ever! Let me take a moment to share with you all why I have become a bored mom.

For starters, both children have graduated High School and are becoming semi-adults.

My one type 1 diabetic child no longer lives in our household. This does not mean I don’t worry or check in on them. For me it simply means, less cleaning, less laundry, less dinners, less yelling, less checking if homework is done, less doctor appointments, less keeping up with diabetic supplies, overall less everyday interactions to occupy me. For moms who have older children, you may know how hard it is to let go and see them off.

Now that both kids can KIND OF take care of themselves, I have so much free time to myself.

Apart from all the crying and the pep talks I gave myself, I had to find things to keep busy. Which at first was easier said than done. I did find a way to escape when I decided to catch up on some reading. I had a whole Pinterest page of books I thought would be interesting. Anything from true crime, biographies, to some spicy smut was on this list. I would read a book per week. It was great! Some books were hard to find at the library or on Amazon. I did however, indulge in the 3 months free subscription through kindle unlimited.

Let me know if you all want a list or even care to browse through my read or want to read list.

What else do I do with my free time?

Well, let’s see… I search for new recipes to make for dinner. Again now that I work from home, some days it’s easy to take a quick break and throw it in the crockpot, or get things chopped and marinated. Crock pot dinners and air fryer dinners have been all that I do lately.  I am investing time learning how to grow flowers from seeds. That is not always easy, believe it or not. I have not always been successful. I will include that I get a new houseplant when I can. When my husband works late or on the weekend I'll dive into some crafting like, making clay earrings, glitter pens, making shirts or other fun things with my Cricut.

I have even tried learning to use a sewing machine. I struggle with that and still need a lot to learn.

At the end of my work day and when dinner is cleaned up, my husband and I will sit and find a new show or movie to watch. Browsing through Max, Prime, and Netflix should be easy since there are so many options. It can become a challenge given we don’t always have the same likes. Something we can both agree on is always a good biography.

Every morning before I start work I TRY to do a quick workout and then jot some thoughts in a journal. Usually nonsense if you ask me. Once I made this a goal I started off strong and somehow my eagerness to write and use the mini stair stepper no longer intrigued me. I’m just gonna say that it was completely discouraging working out 5 times a week for 30-45 minutes and only losing 2 pounds in 3 months. If I can encourage myself to gather extra energy and excitement I'll get back on that routine, especially since the holidays are quickly approaching.

Oh, don’t let me forget I definitely make time to gossip with my siblings. There is always something going on. Between parenting, school, and taking mini vacations we have plenty of stories to tell. My newest pass time is selfcare. At times I feel a little silly, but I am learning things that I should have taken the time to learn as a teenager. Such as filling in my eyebrows and how to apply eyeshadow. The importance of skincare to hydrate your skin, incorporating hair oiling is my favorite right now. I just wish I could get it to grow faster than what it is. Giving myself pedicures and painting my nails is still time consuming but it’s enjoyable.

What are things you do to pass your time, alone or with a loved one?

What do you hate doing? Most answers I get are laundry and bathrooms, and truthfully I don’t blame you. It’s far from fun.

I am eager to read your comments and answer some questions.

And with that my fellow readers and friends, I will end this post.

Hope you all have a wonderful adventurous day. 💟
